Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic treatment revolves around restoring the natural movement in your body. Instead of concentrating solely on the area that hurts, Dr. Hogan analyzes your joint, muscular, and nervous system’s functionality.
As joint motion gets inhibited, or muscular imbalance occurs, simple tasks performed throughout your day put additional strain on your body. Adjustments help to regain natural motion in your joints for optimal functioning of your body. Not only will your current symptoms be addressed, but the movement and stability will be improved to prevent future recurrences.
Prenatal Care
As your pregnancy progresses, changes in posture and your center of gravity can place extra stress on the lower back and pelvis. Even a small restriction in the spine may increase pressure on nearby nerves, making everyday movements less comfortable.
Dr. Hogan takes a conservative approach to prenatal care, focusing on helping you stay comfortable and active throughout your pregnancy. Treatments are modified to match each stage of pregnancy and may include gentle chiropractic adjustments using techniques that are safe and appropriate for expectant mothers.
Chiropractic Care For Children
Children are naturally active, which means falls, sports, and everyday bumps are part of growing up. Most pediatric visits involve simple injuries rather than complex conditions, so treatment is typically gentle and straightforward.
Chiropractic care revolves around making sure the joints remain in motion and hence allowing proper healing. According to Dr. Hogan, provided there is no soft tissue injury, most children will react positively to minor chiropractic treatments. This allows children to get back to their usual activities and develop proper joint motion.
Active Release Technique
Repetitive workouts, long hours at a desk, or doing the same movement every day can cause muscles to tighten up and lose flexibility. That’s when movement starts to change. Active Release Technique is one of the manual therapies we use at Active Body Chiropractic. It help loosen those restricted tissues so the joint can move the way it’s supposed to again.
Dr. Hogan often combines manual therapy with chiropractic adjustments because, if the muscles stay tight, the joint usually won’t move well for very long. Better movement gives your body a better chance to stay that way.
Car Accident Injury Treatment
A car accident can affect more than just the area where you feel pain. The sudden force may strain muscles, ligaments, and joints, even if symptoms don’t appear immediately. Whiplash is a common injury that patients present with after an auto accident. That’s why we begin with a detailed examination to understand how your body has been affected before recommending treatment.
Restoring proper joint movement early helps your body heal in the correct position instead of adapting to poor movement patterns. Depending on your injuries, your care may include chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy, rehabilitation, and imaging referrals when necessary to guide your recovery.
Carpal Tunnel Treatment
Tingling, numbness, or weakness in the hand isn’t always caused by the wrist alone. In some cases, irritation in the neck can contribute to similar symptoms, making it important to identify where the problem begins. We evaluate the entire pathway of the nerve instead of focusing only on the hand.
Once we understand what’s causing your symptoms, treatment may include chiropractic adjustments, manual therapy, and exercises that improve movement and reduce unnecessary stress on the affected tissues. Addressing the underlying cause can help improve hand function and everyday comfort.
Chiropractic For Sports Injuries
Whether you’re training for competition or exercising to stay healthy, your body performs best when it moves efficiently. Sports injuries often result from repetitive movements, overtraining, or pushing your body to its limits.
Dr. Hogan combines his background in exercise physiology with chiropractic care to help athletes recover while maintaining their performance goals. Treatment may include chiropractic adjustments, manual therapy, flexibility work, and guidance on modifying exercises during recovery. The focus is not only on returning to your sport but also on reducing the risk of the injury happening again.
Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave Therapy uses acoustic sound waves to stimulate the body’s natural healing response. Rather than simply masking symptoms, it works at the cellular level by helping reduce inflammation, break down scar tissue, and encourage tissue repair.
At Active Body Chiropractic, shockwave therapy is applied on chronic knee pain, shoulder injuries, tendon problems, plantar fasciitis, and many other soft-tissue ailments that do not respond to resting treatments. As it promotes healing instead of merely treating symptoms, Shockwave Therapy is commonly applied alongside chiropractic treatments to promote faster recovery and enable patients to return to their regular activities.
Spinal Decompression Treatment
Spinal decompression may not be suitable for every patient, which is why Dr. James Hogan first determines whether your symptoms are actually coming from a disc injury or another condition. When a disc is involved, the computerized decompression table gently stretches the affected area to create negative pressure around the injured disc.
This helps reduce the stress placed on the irritated nerve while giving the disc a better environment to heal. Depending on your condition, Dr. Hogan may combine spinal decompression with chiropractic adjustments, rehabilitation exercises, or SoftWave Therapy to improve movement, support healing, and help you return to your normal activities.
SoftWave Therapy
SoftWave Therapy uses acoustic sound waves to work on injured or irritated tissue. Dr. James Hogan uses it to help reduce inflammation, break down scar tissue, and encourage the tissue to repair. It is commonly used for knee and shoulder problems, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, tennis or golfer’s elbow, sciatica, and nerve irritation in the neck. The treatment may be used on its own or along with chiropractic care. For disc and nerve problems, Dr. Hogan may also combine SoftWave Therapy with spinal decompression, depending on what is causing the symptoms.
Wellness Care
Feeling better is only the first step. Dr. James Hogan believes long-term wellness comes from correcting the underlying problem and helping your body function well after the symptoms have improved. Once pain is under control, the focus shifts toward strengthening weak areas, improving flexibility, restoring balance, and preventing the same issue from returning.
Dr. Hogan often describes this as moving beyond short-term relief and helping patients reach their personal health goals. Whether you enjoy exercising or simply want to stay active, wellness care is designed to support healthy movement for the long term.
Therapeutic Exercises
Exercise is an important part of recovery. After improving joint movement and reducing irritation, Dr. James Hogan recommends exercises that match your condition, activity level, and goals.
A weak area may need strengthening, while another area may need more flexibility or better balance. Dr. Hogan also looks at the activities or workouts that may be putting repeated stress on the body. Sometimes an exercise needs to be modified, and other times there may be a better alternative. This helps patients stay active while working toward better strength and stability.
